
Zephyrs doubled up by Sounds

New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release
The New Orleans Zephyrs fell to the visiting Nashville Sounds on Thursday by a score of 6-3.
The loss is the fifth-straight at home for the Zephyrs.
Nashville starter Justin Thompson (1-0) got the win in five innings. Thompson gave up three runs on six hits. Former Zephyrs pitcher and current Nashville reliever Jared Fernandez got his second save of the season, giving up three hits and no runs in four innings.
Offensively New Orleans was led by second baseman Bernie Castro, who returned from the DL. Castro was 2-4 with two runs and an RBI.
Zephyrs starting pitcher Kyle Denney (0-2) remains winless, taking the loss after allowing two earned runs (five overall) on five hits in five innings of play.
With the defending PCL Champion Sounds taking a 1-0 series lead, the teams will return to play on Friday in a 7:00 PM CT contest.
