HEADLINES: RedHawks get Sinisi, DeRosa ... Tejeda starts tonight ... Durazo continues hot streak
TODAY'S OPPONENT: The Albuquerque Isotopes are the Triple-A affiliate of the Florida Marlins. They have been a member of the Pacific Coast League since 2003. They were previously the Calgary Cannons before moving to Albuquerque after the 2002 season. Last year, the Isotopes were 78-66 and finished 2.5 games out of first in the PCL American Conference Southern Division.
TODAY'S GAME: The RedHawks continue their eight-game homestand against first-place Albuquerque. This is their 20th game of the season, 12th home game and first game against Albuquerque. The RedHawks are 5.5 games behind The Isotopes in the AC South.
LAST GAME: Nashville scored four runs in the sixth and three in the ninth to beat Oklahoma 9-4. RedHawks pitcher John Hudgins made his first start of the year and went 4.2 innings. He had a no-hitter through three before giving up his only two hits of the game to back-to-back batters in the fourth. Erubiel Durazo and Rashad Eldridge both hit their second home runs of the season for Oklahoma.
VS. ALBUQUERQUE: The RedHawks were 11-5 against Albuquerque last season, including 6-2 at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. Last year, 1B Jason Botts hit .377 (23-for-61) in 16 games against the Isotopes with five doubles, six homers and 17 RBIs. Oklahoma out-scored Albuquerque 131-88 in the 16-game series in 2005.
PITCHING MATCHUP: Starting pitcher Rob Tejeda makes his fifth start of the year for the RedHawks. He took the loss in his last outing, April 21 at Memphis. He went six innings and gave up six runs on six hits. He was the RedHawks' opening-day starter April 6 vs. Memphis. Lefty Renyel Pinto starts for Albuquerque . He earned the win in his last start, April 21 against his former team the Iowa Cubs. He went five shutout innings and gave up three hits.
CLOSE GAMES: Eight of Oklahoma 's 11 losses this season have come by four runs or less. They have two losses each of one run, two runs, three runs and four runs. Also, seven of Oklahoma's eight wins have come by four runs or less, including four one-run wins.
HOME SWEET HOME: Going back to July 22 of last season, the RedHawks are 27-9 at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark (.750) including 1-1 in last year's playoffs against Nashville. They are 26-8 (.765) at home in regular season games since July 22.
JAMIE BURKE: Catcher and third baseman Jamie Burke has raised his batting average 97 points from .196 to .293 in the last three games. He is 8-for-12 (.750) at the plate in his last three games with four RBIs.
JASON BOTTS: First baseman Jason Botts had his six-game hitting streak come to an end Tuesday by going 0-for-3. Botts hit .417 with five RBIs during the streak. It will become a seven-game hitting streak when the April 24 game against Nashville is completed in July. He hit a home run before that game was suspended by rain.
HEART OF THE ORDER: The 3-4-5 batters in the Oklahoma lineup are 24-for-62 (.387) with 14 RBIs in Oklahoma's last five games. During that span, Erubiel Durazo is 7-for-12 (.583) with two home runs and four RBIs batting fourth in four games.
HOME RUNS: OF Rashad Eldridge's 2-run homer in the sixth inning Tuesday ended a streak of nine straight solo home runs (seven lead off) by the RedHawks. The RedHawks have no three-run home runs or grand slams this year.
DOT-DOT-DOTS: 2B Mark DeRosa has been added the RedHawks roster on major league rehab. He was placed on Texas ' DL April 19 with a sprained left foot.
