July 19, 2012 - International League (IL1)
Toledo Mud Hens News Release

The Hens closed out their road trip in heartbreaking fashion, rallying for four runs in the ninth, but eventually falling to the Bisons, 9-8.

The Mud Hens took an early 2-1 lead in the fourth after a Danny Dorn double and Jerad Head single each knocked in a run. The Bisons struck back in the bottom of the inning with four runs off starter Casey Crosby to take a 5-2 advantage.

Crosby struggled for Toledo, surrendering five runs on seven hits over six innings. Crosby also walked four and struck out five.

The lead was cut to 5-4 after Justin Henry scored on an error in the fifth and Jerad Head scored in the sixth on a Jamie Johnson fielder's choice. Jose Ortega surrendered two runs in the eighth to extend the Buffalo lead to 7-4.

The Hens took the lead in ninth when Danny Dorn stepped to the plate and cleared the bases with a grand slam to put them up 8-7. Dorn finished with five RBIs on the day.

The lead was short lived, however, as the Bisons loaded the bases up themselves and delivered the winning two runs off Chris Bootcheck to give Buffalo a 9-8 victory.

After a two-week hiatus, the Hens return home for four days to take on the Indianapolis Indians. Brooks Brown is scheduled to start tomorrow and first pitch is at 7:05 p.m.

Game Notes

Chris Bootcheck has blown three of his last four save opportunities.

Jamie Johnson's RBI was his first at the Triple-A level.

The Hens finished their 11-game road trip with a 4-7 record.
