Nine Wolves Prospects Named to Gold Cup Rosters

2018 OHL Gold Cup team rosters were released Thursday afternoon with nine Wolves prospects listed among the 160 players named. These players will represent their respective minor hockey associations starting on Thursday May 3rd in Kitchener, ON.

The Wolves were tied in second with the Peterborough Petes for having the most prospects selected to participate in the tournament with 9, while the Ottawa 67's led the way with 10.

Quinton Byfield and Ryan Smith will suit up for OMHA Team Black, while Nathan Ribau, Jack Thompson and Michael Tiveron will play for OMHA Team White. Kyle Aucoin will play for HNO, Giordano Biondi will play for NOHA, Blake Butler for Alliance and Simon Labelle for HEO.

"We are very excited to see so many of our draft picks named to rosters for this tournament," said Sudbury Wolves VP & General Manager Rob Papineau. "We felt we had a great draft last Saturday and this reinforces it."

Fans will get their first chance to see these players in action this weekend at the annual Rookie/Orientation Camp. On-ice sessions are free entry for all fans on Saturday and Sunday. Ice sessions will run on Saturday from 7pm - 9pm and Sunday from 11:30am - 1:30pm.
