McNair, Rauch, Ebrahim Selected in U18 Priority Selection

Earlier tonight the Ontario Hockey League conducted the Under-18 Priority Selection for Midget AAA players.

The Soo Greyhounds would make three selections in the second annual event.

(the draft is scheduled for two rounds, with an additional pick granted to any team who selects a goaltender with either of their first two picks).

With their first round selection (20th overall), the Hounds selected netminder KYLE MCNAIR (shown) from the Kingston Frontenacs Midget Hockey Club.

The 6.03, 206 netminder appeared in 7 regular season games grabbing a 3.20 GAA before six additional post-season contests.

In the second round (40th overall), left-winer JAKE RAUCH, who was an Assistant Captain this past season with the Don Mills Flyers Midget AAA.

Then with their third pick of the draft, left winger DANIEL EBRAHIM would be selected from the Ajax-Pickering Raiders Midget AAA club.

In 32 regular season games played, Ebrahim notched 21 goals and 19 assists, good for 40 points. He added 10 more points (5g, 5a) in 6 post-season games.

ABOUT THE OHL U-18 PRIORITY SELECTION

Eligibility for the 2018 OHL Under-18 Priority Selection included all Midget players (2000 and 2001 birth years) not currently on an OHL Member Team Protected List who were carded with an Ontario based Midget AAA Hockey Club within the Ontario Hockey Federation, Hockey Eastern Ontario, or Hockey Northwestern Ontario in the current season.
