Nine Thunder In Edmonton Oilers Development Camp

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers and American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons, announced nine players who have playing experience with the Thunder are participating in the 2008 Edmonton Oilers Development Camp in Edmonton and Sherwood Park, Alberta.

The camp runs for eight days between June 1st and June 8th and includes both on-ice and off-ice sessions.

Steve Serdachny, the Oilers Skating and Skills Coach, will run the on-ice sessions at Millennium Place in Sherwood Park, Alberta, while off-ice training sessions will be held at both Foote Field on the campus of the University of Alberta and at the Oilers fitness centre at Rexall Place, under the guidance of Oilers Strength and Conditioning Consultant Chad Moreau and Scott Hoyer, the team's Fitness Coordinator.

A total of 26 players will be attending the camp, including eight of the Oilers' 10 draft choices from the 2006 and 2007 NHL Entry Drafts. The Thunder is represented by six players who were selected in past NHL Entry Drafts, including center Ryan O'Marra (1st round, 15th overall in 2005), center Geoff Paukovich (2nd round, 57th overall in 2004), goaltender Glenn Fisher (5th round, 148th overall in 2002), left wing Stephane Goulet (7th round, 208th overall in 2004), center Tyler Spurgeon (8th round, 242nd overall in 2004) and right wing Troy Bodie (9th round, 278th overall in 2003).
