Nick McBride Bolsters Pitching Staff

SPRINGFIELD, MO. (MAY 23, 2013) - Today the Frisco RoughRiders have received right-handed pitcher Nick McBride from Triple-A Round Rock. There is no corresponding roster move at this time, and the Frisco roster is now at 23 active players.

McBride, 22, began the season with Advanced-A Myrtle Beach after finishing his 2012 season with the Pelicans. The Lewisville, North Carolina native was promoted to Triple-A Round Rock earlier this week after posting an 0-2 record with a 1.96 ERA over 23 innings in 12 appearances this season. He also collected two saves for the Pelicans. McBride pitched his first game for the Express Wednesday night, surrendering four runs on six hits and a pair of walks over three innings. McBride was selected in the fifth round of the 2005 MLB June Amateur Draft and will be playing at Double-A for the first time in his career.

Frisco's roster is now at 23 active players, two below the Texas League limit.

The RoughRiders play game two of their series in Springfield against the Cardinals Thursday night at 7:09 p.m. Frisco returns home Tuesday, May 28, 2013 to host Springfield at 7:05 pm at Dr Pepper Ballpark, and fans may purchase tickets for either game by visiting www.RidersBaseball.com or by calling (972) 731-9200. Tickets are also available for purchase at the Dr Pepper Ballpark box office, which is open 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Monday - Friday and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday.
