NHL Network to Air First Edition of the Golden State Hockey Rush
December 2, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Stockton Heat News Release
Sacramento, Calif. - RS Ice Sports & Entertainment, in conjunction with their event partners the Sacramento Rivercats and Entercom Media, today announced that the NHL Network will air the American Hockey League Outdoor game featuring the Stockton Heat against the Bakersfield Condors on Friday, December 18 at 7:30 p.m. PST, live from Sacramento's Raley Field. The matchup will be the first-ever regular season AHL outdoor game played in Western North America. Local channel listings for this national telecast are available at www.nhlnetwork.com.
This game will mark the first edition of the Golden State Hockey Rush, which is a new professional outdoor hockey property developed by RS Ice Sports & Entertainment. California is quickly turning into a hockey hot-bed with five new teams in the American Hockey League to add to the three NHL franchises, who call the Golden State home.
Produced by the Emmy Award-winning Franklin Pictures, the broadcast will feature Chris Madsen handling play-by-play and Dan Moriarty providing the color commentary. Madsen, who is the original television voice of the NHL's Anaheim Ducks and has contributed to ESPN, is a six-time Award-winning broadcaster. Hockey fans know Moriarty best from his extensive work on hosting NHL Cool Shots, plus his contributions to FOX Sports Radio and Cinesport.
"Securing a national television broadcast for our 2015 event has been our goal since day one and we couldn't be more pleased to reach this goal with the help of some great people at the NHL Network and Franklin Pictures," said RS Ice Sports VP Marketing & Media Relations, Mark Francis. "To have our company's work validated by hockey's major television property in the NHL Network is an extremely exciting development for everyone involved in this year's event and for what we would like to accomplish in the future."
