Tampa Bay Lightning Reassign Brian Hart and Henri Ikonen to Greenville Swamp Rabbits

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Tampa Bay Lightning have reassigned forwards Brian Hart and Henri Ikonen to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits of the ECHL, Syracuse Crunch general manager Julien BriseBois announced today.

Hart, 22, has appeared in three games with the Crunch this season, recording two penalty minutes. During the 2015-16 season, Hart has also skated in 15 games with the Swamp Rabbits, notching six goals and one assist to go along with two penalty minutes.

Prior to his professional career, the 6-foot-3, 222-pound forward skated in 37 games with the Harvard Crimson during the 2014-15 season, recording seven goals and 17 points. The Cumberland, Maine native ranked sixth on the Crimson for goals and tied for seventh for points. He played in 98 career games with Harvard over three seasons, recording 18 goals and 50 points.

Hart was drafted in the second round, 53rd overall, by the Lightning in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He was signed to a three-year, two-way NHL contract with the team on June 28.

Ikonen, 21, has appeared in 17 contests with the Crunch this season, posting one goal, three assists and four penalty minutes. During the 2014-15 season, he skated in 59 games with Syracuse, earning 13 points (5g, 8a) and 43 penalty minutes. In 82 games with the Crunch since 2013, Ikonen has recorded 19 points (6g, 13a) and 49 penalty minutes.

The 6-foot, 185-pound forward played in seven games for Team Finland at the 2014 IIHF World Junior Championships in Sweden, recording a goal and three points. Ikonen won the Gold Medal with Team Finland at the tournament.

From 2012 to 2014, Ikonen skated in 115 career OHL games, all with Kingston, collecting 47 goals and 121 points to go along with 79 penalty minutes. Ikonen set career highs for goals (25), assists (45), points (70), plus/minus (+17) and penalty minutes (49) during the 2013-14 season.

Ikonen was selected by the Lightning in the sixth round, 154th overall, at the 2013 NHL Draft. He was signed to a three-year, two-way NHL contract with the team on April 6, 2014.
