NHL Devils Draft 67's Duo

June 22, 2019 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL) - Ottawa 67's News Release

OTTAWA - Two Ottawa 67's players followed up big junior years by taking the next big step to The Show on Saturday afternoon, as defenceman Nikita Okhotyuk (61st overall) and forward Graeme Clarke (80th overall) were selected in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft in Vancouver.

Okhotyuk heard his name called by the Devils in the second round, the second 67's blueliner in as many years to be selected in Round 2 after Kevin Bahl was selected by Arizona last year at 55th overall.

Clarke joined Okhotyuk and center Mitchell Hoelscher as the third active 67's player currently in New Jersey's prospect pool when he was selected in the third round.

"I am really happy for Nikita and Graeme, they are two of our hardest working guys, and so to see them get rewarded like that and be selected by a good organization like the Devils, we are really proud of them," said 67's Head Coach and VP. Of Hockey Ops André Tourigny

Both players are expected to be back with the 67's next year, along with a number of core players from last season's edition.
