New York Red Bulls II Sign Scott Levene
March 23, 2018 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
New York Red Bulls II News Release
HARRISON, N.J. - New York Red Bulls II have signed goalkeeper Scott Levene to a USL contract, the club announced today.
Levene, 22, joins NYRB II after a four-year career at University of Connecticut (UCONN), where he made 70 straight starts for the Huskies to end his collegiate career, including 29 clean sheets, dating back to 2014.
The Stamford, Conn., native passed former UConn standout and current Philadelphia Union keeper Andre Blake for second-longest streak of consecutive starts in program history.
"We're happy to welcome Scott to the club," NYRB II head coach John Wolyniec said. "He will be a great addition to our goalkeeping corps after four years at UCONN. He brings a high soccer IQ and possesses abilities that fit well with our style of play as he continues his development with us."
Levene graduated in December of 2017 with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing. Before college, Scott was a member of the U-14/15 United States National teams.
"I'm very excited to sign my first professional contract," Levene said. "To be able to accomplish something I've been dreaming of since I was 5 years old is truly amazing. So much hard work and sacrifice has gone into my journey and I'm very fortunate to start my career and continue to develop at such an incredible club."
Levene will join NYRB II for Saturday's match away at ATL UTD 2.
