March 10, 2023 - Major League Soccer (MLS) - New York Red Bulls News Release
The New York Red Bulls (0-1-1, 1 pts.) head North to battle Minnesota United FC (1-0-0, 3 pts.) on Saturday, March 11 at Allianz Field. Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. ET on Apple TV MLS Season pass and New York Red Bulls Radio in English via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app, and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
Coverage on Apple TV in English and Spanish begins at 8:30 p.m. ET. Kevin Egan will have the primary play-by-play responsibilities and will be alongside Kyndra de St Aubin on the English side, while Jorge Calvo will have the play-by-play responsibilities on the Spanish broadcast. New York Red Bulls Radio begins at 8 p.m. ET with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Honda, hosted by Matt Harmon and Steve Jolley.
This will be the fifth meeting between New York and Minnesota, with the series tied at 2-2-0. The Red Bulls won the only meeting in Minnesota, which was a 3-0 win for New York at TCF Bank Stadium on July 22, 2017. Minnesota United are coming off a 1-0 win against FC Dallas in their first match of the season.
The Red Bulls defense have only allowed one shot on goal through 180 minutes of action this season, which leads the MLS in that timespan. Goalkeeper Carlos Coronel recorded his 23rd career MLS clean sheet on Saturday against Nashville SC at Red Bull Arena. He has now tallied 13 career clean sheets at Red Bull Arena and is only four shy of passing Tony Meola for the second most clean sheets in franchise history.
Jamaican forward Cory Burke made his New York Red Bulls debut on February 25 against Orlando City SC. Burke has scored two career MLS goals against Minnesota United in two career matches. The Jamaican international has recorded 10 shots against the Loons, which is tied fourth for the most shots he has against a single MLS club.
Following Saturday's match, New York returns home to Red Bull Arena on Saturday, March 18 to battle Columbus Crew SC. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm. ET with coverage on Apple TV in English and Spanish and New York Red Bulls Radio in English via Tune In, the New York Red Bulls app, and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
