New York Red Bulls Draw Hartford Athletic in Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Third Round

HARRISON, N.J. - The New York Red Bulls will play Hartford Athletic FC in the Third Round of the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, April 20 at Trinity Health Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. with coverage on ESPN+ and New York Red Bulls Radio.

New York will be entering their 24th Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, and their first match in the Open Cup since 2019, where they lost to New England Revolution, 3-2. The Red Bulls have amassed a record of 26-22-3 in the Open Cup. They have reached the final of the tournament twice, once in 2003 against Chicago Fire FC and most recently in 2017, where they played Sporting Kansas City. In the first round that New York has entered, they have tallied a 15-8-0 mark, while being 4-1-0 in their opening round matches in their last five tournaments.
