New York Red Bulls Announce Preseason Schedule

HARRISON, N.J. - The New York Red Bulls will make two preseason trips to Florida in preparation for the 2016 MLS season, the club announced today. New York will play seven matches over two trips to Orlando, and will not take part in a preseason tournament.

The Red Bulls will first meet as a team on Friday, January 22, just over six weeks prior to the season opener, which is slated for Sunday, March 6, when Toronto FC visits Red Bull Arena (1:30 p.m., TV TBA).

The team will depart for Orlando on Sunday, January 24, and spend 13 days training before returning on Friday, February 5. The Red Bulls will play four preseason matches during the first trip, a scrimmage against the University of South Florida on Thursday, January 28, a split-squad day with matches against Jacksonville Armada FC (NASL) and Montverde Academy on Saturday, January 31, and a match against the Montreal Impact on Thursday, February 4.

The Red Bulls will then return home for 10 days of training at the New York Red Bulls Training Facility in East Hanover, New Jersey, before returning to Orlando on Monday, February 15.

New York will face MLS sides Orlando City SC (February 17) and Philadelphia Union (February 24) in exhibition matches before taking on the Jacksonville Armada again on February 27. The club will return home on Sunday, February 28 to make final preparations in the week leading up to the opener.
