New York Red Bulls Add Sebastian Häusl as Head of Scouting

HARRISON, N.J. - The New York Red Bulls have named Sebastian Häusl as Head of Scouting, the club announced today.
"We are very excited to add Sebastian to our staff ahead of the 2023 season." Head of Sport Jochen Schneider said. "Sebastian has had great success in Austria with Red Bull Salzburg as he has led the video scouting and data scouting departments for the club over the last three seasons and has been able to identify players that fit a distinct style. We are pleased to have Sebastian with us and looking forward for him helping us add highly talented players to our roster."
Häusl most recently worked as the Team Lead of Videoscouting and Datascouting departments for Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga. Häusl oversaw all aspects of video analyzing and data analytics with Red Bull Salzburg since 2020. Prior to that, he was a Team Scout for the club for three years.
Häusl joined the club in 2017, where he helped RB Salzburg win the Austrian Bundesliga for five straight seasons. During his time, Salzburg won four Austrian Cups, qualified for the UEFA Champions League six times, and reached the semifinals of the UEFA Europa League in 2018.
"I am very excited to be joining the New York Red Bulls as the new Head of Scouting ahead of the 2023 season," said Häusl. "It is a very important time at the club as we look to recruit players of the highest ability and skillset, which will give us the best possible chance of achieving long-term success at the club. I am really looking forward to leading the club's scouting department as we build our roster ahead of the 2023 season."
Häusl graduated from the University of Salzburg with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Science in 2015. He later earned his Master of Science in Sports Management-Medien in 2018. Häusl holds a UEFA B Coaching License.
