GAME #27: July 30 - Minnesota 69, Liberty 78

The Liberty pushed to their third win in a row with a home victory over Minnesota...New York asserted their dominance early in the match-up as they posted a 15-point lead in the closing minutes of the quarter 28-13...Despite strong play from Minnesota's Megan Duffy, who posted eight points in the quarter, New York managed to maintain their double-digit lead into the half, 43-32...The Liberty offense could not seem to find a rhythm in the third quarter as they shot only .250 compared to .528 in the first half...Minnesota took advantage of this opening to cut the lead at the 4:30 mark and gain their first advantage (49-48) since the opening minutes of the game...The Liberty would not go down quietly as Shameka Christon battled in the paint getting herself to the line seven times and connecting on all seven shots...Christon contributed nine solid points in the final frame to add to her game-high 20-points...New York finished with three other players in double-figures: Farris (20), Moore (12) and Baker (10)...The Lynx were led by Seimone Augustus who recorded a game-high 32 points.

GAME #26- July 29 - Liberty 85, Charlotte 80

New York continued its win streak, grabbing a second consecutive win on the road in Charlotte, 85-80...Charlotte seemed to dominate the match-up early in the game as they jumped out to a strong lead in the first quarter, closing the frame 22-14...The Sting continued to hold their advantage despite solid efforts from the Liberty throughout the second quarter...Behind the hot hand of Erin Thorn, New York battled back to within two points before heading into the half, 39-41...The Liberty came out in the second half with new focus and immediately attacked the Sting lead...The big man combination of Cathrine Kraayeveld, Barbara Farris and Iciss Tillis proved too much for the Sting as they combined for 14 points in the third quarter...New York saw their first lead at the 5:07 mark behind a strong move in the paint by Farris that gave them a 50-49 advantage...New York extended their largest lead of the game, 79-71 at the 2:15 mark...The Liberty continued to hold their lead through the remainder of the game closing out Charlotte on the road...New York finished with three players in double figures, led by Thorn's 25 points...Shameka Christon recorded 16 and Loree Moore added 11 points on the night...Charlotte was led by Tammy Sutton-Brown who finished with 19 points.

New York vs. Connecticut

New York hits the road to wrap up their season series with Connecticut...The Sun has grabbed the first three match-ups between the two teams, but the Liberty look to capture their first win tonight...The game will be broadcast live on MSG Network at 7:00 p.m....The Liberty is currently 7-20, holding the sixth-place spot in the Eastern Conference...Connecticut has a record of 21-6, earning them the top spot in the Eastern Conference.

TEAM NOTES

BACK-TO-BACK...AGAIN

New York has closed their fifth back-to-back series of the season with a home win against the Minnesota Lynx Sunday night, 78-69...They opened the series on the road facing Charlotte, winning 85-80, July 29 ... This back-to-back series is the second within a week as they opened the week with a 1-1 record with a loss to Connecticut and a turnaround win against Chicago...The Liberty holds a 60-41 all-time record in back-to-back situations ... New York now has just one more back-to-back series this summer ... The Liberty will host Chicago on August 5 then play in Detroit the following night.

REACHING MILESTONES ON AND OFF THE COURT

The WNBA and the New York Liberty are celebrating their 10th Anniversary this season, and on July 30 New York also had another milestone to celebrate...As the team faced off with the Minnesota Lynx, the Liberty welcomed its two-millionth fan through the Garden turnstiles...The lucky fan received a team-signed authentic jersey, commemorative game ball, was upgraded to courtside seats and was presented with a giant replica of a game ticket...New York was the first team in the league to reach this level of arena attendance.
