DETROIT SHOCK HEAD COACH BILL LAIMBEER: (On Kara Braxton): "We saw flashes of it last year, it's been a struggle this year, for us and for her. I'm happy for her, that she has a good game under her belt, but its only one game. Let's hope it carries over into the next one."
(On the game): "No question, that was the biggest game of the year to this point. If they had beaten us on our floor, it would have given them the tiebreaker and put them only one game behind us, and put tremendous pressure on us, but they didn't win. They played very hard, they made some shots, but the bottom line is we pulled a win out."
DETROIT SHOCK FORWARD CHERYL FORD: (On the upcoming games against New York and Chicago): "We still aren't going to take any team lightly. We have to go play on the road and road games are always tough. We're going to go out and continue to play just as hard."
DETROIT SHOCK CENTER KARA BRAXTON: (On having a good game): "We've been working a lot this week on what we need to do, getting ready for the playoffs. Playing against players like Plenette [Pierson], Cheryl [Ford], and Ruth [Riley] every day [in practice] you can't do anything but get better. That's all I've been doing, nothing special."
(On her season thus far): "It's been frustrating. I've dealt with it, I've gotten used to it. I just do whatever I can for the team, whatever the team needs me to do, that's what I try to do."
INDIANA FEVER HEAD COACH BRIAN WINTERS: (On how hard fought the two teams play against each other) "Yeah they are. They're knockdown drag outs. We both go at it pretty good and both are pretty physical. They have all been close. We're two and two in the series. They've won twice here and we've won twice in Indiana. That's just how it is."
(On a possible first round match-up with the Shock) "More then likely, unless something we can't fathom happens. You never know. Detroit still has a chance to catch Connecticut, I don't know if we do mathematically. We'll see. We'll play them out until the end and then go to the playoffs and see what happens."
INDIANA FEVER FORWARD TAMIKA CATCHINGS: (If she's tired of playing against the Shock) "Not tired of it. I think that's a great thing for women's basketball, a great thing for the WNBA to have those rivalries in the league so as far as tired of it, no. It's just that every single game is going to be a war.
(On the Shock) "I think they did the little things. We didn't box out. We let a few things go and offensively we couldn't score down the stretch. It's like every time you lose you always look at one or two things that you did wrong that you could have done better. We did some great things and we have to look at them and then move forward."
(On Kara Braxton) "She's a great player. Sometimes she has struggled against us but you're bound to have a break out game one of these days. She played good tonight. She was getting up and down the court. She got some transition lay-ups and got some buckets underneath the basket. You've got to defend good plays"
(On a possible first round match-up with the Shock) "Oh yeah. We'll see them in the playoffs. We'll be ready. They'll be ready too."
