DES MOINES, Iowa - Alex Sanabia pitched a two hit complete game gem, but suffered the loss as Iowa defeats the Zephyrs 1-0. The Cubs starter dueled with Sanabia working seven innings allowing no runs on two hits. The lone run of the game came in the bottom of the eighth inning. Brett Jackson led the inning off with a walk and Josh Vitters singled to right field. Jonathan Mota came up to bat and on the first pitch, Sanabia held on to the ball and a balk was called. The Zephyrs were retired in order in the ninth and Scott Maine earned the win in relief. The Zephyrs split the series with the Cubs.

Game Notes - The Zephyrs and Cubs played the shortest game of the season 1:50. The walk issued by Sanabia in the eighth inning snapped a streak of 23 innings without allowing a base on balls. The two wins by the Iowa Cubs this weekend were 1-0 wins, winning Friday on a wild pitch and a balk in the final game. Donovan Solano 9 game hit streak was snapped.
