
New Mexico United Announces the Signing of Tyler Blackett

Albuquerque, NM - New Mexico United has signed Center Back Tyler Blackett for the remainder of the 2026 season pending league and federation approval.
"We are thrilled to add someone with Tyler's pedigree to our club," said Sporting Director Itamar Keinan. "Tyler is not only bringing a wealth of experience with him, but also real quality and leadership to our backline. Welcome to the Black and Yellow Tyler!"
The 32-year-old Manchester, England native joins United after an impressive career in England, Scotland, and the United States. Blackett started with the Manchester United youth academy and made his professional debut at the age of 19 with Blackpool.
During the 2014-15 season he played 11 matches with Manchester United making his Premier League Debut against Swansea City in front of 75,339 fans at Old Trafford. In the 2015-2016 season he played with Scottish giant Celtic helping them win the Scottish Premiership before transferring to Reading where he played for 4 seasons.
During his professional career Blackett has played over 11,000 Minutes in the EFL Championship and over 2,000 in his time in MLS with FC Cincinnati.
Blackett will bring his veteran experience to New Mexico as the Black and Yellow look to win their first cup in team history in the 2026 season.
