Louisville City FC News Release
Louisville City FC will host Major League Soccer competition in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup's Round of 32, drawing Austin FC for a 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, matchup at Lynn Family Stadium.
Tickets go on sale at 12 p.m. Friday at LouCity.com/OpenCup or by calling (502) LOU-CITY. Season ticket members will receive email and text communication to claim their regular seats at a 25% discount.
The LouCity-Austin FC matchup marks just the third time an MLS foe will visit Lynn Family Stadium following Nashville SC (2022) and Minnesota United (2025).
America's oldest ongoing national soccer competition, the Open Cup is an annual knockout tournament that dates back to 1914. Its lore stems from the ability of amateur and lower-division clubs to face off with - and potentially upset - higher-division counterparts.
This season's U.S. Open Cup is made up of a field of 80 teams - including 48 professional clubs - competing for a $1 million purse and a place in the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup, an international competition similar to the UEFA Champions League.
Coverage of LouCity vs. Austin FC will air on CBS Sports Network and stream on Paramount+.
Should LouCity advance to the Open Cup's Round of 16, the boys in purple would travel to play either MLS's Houston Dynamo or the USL Championship's El Paso Locomotive FC.
