The New Jersey Jackals lost its second straight game to the New Haven Country Cutters by the score of 11-4 at Yogi Berra Stadium.
After scoring two run against Jackals starter Josh Brey in the fourth, the Cutters broke the game open the next inning. Brey (0-3) pitched 4 1/3 innings, allowed seven runs on 10 hits, with a strikeout and a walk.
Tim Keinath (2-2) pitched 7 innings and allowed just a run on five hits.
Bill Peavey sailed a solo-home run into left center, yet the Jackals still trailed 8-2. Clay Kuklik delivered a three-run blast in the ninth, however, with just three outs remaining they still trailed 11-4; it would be the last Jackals run in the game.
The Cutters fourth began with three-straight singles. With a 3-0 lead, Orlando Encarnacion sent a two-run home run to make it a 5-0 advantage; the Jackals had a treacherous uphill climb, one they wouldn't recover from.
In the sixth inning Thomari Story-Harden delivered his second-straight homer, a solo shot that began a two-run inning that extended the Cutters lead to 9-0.
