New England Revolution Fall to Philadelphia Union, 3-0

CHESTER, Penn. - The New England Revolution (7-3-3; 24 pts.) fell on the road to the Philadelphia Union (6-4-3, 21 pts.), 3-0, at Subaru Park on Saturday night. The two sides played a scoreless first half before Dániel Gazdag tallied twice after the intermission to secure the Union win.

New England captain Carles Gil had his night cut short, exiting the match in the 35th minute with right leg injury. Four Revolution Homegrown Players featured in Saturday's contest. Noel Buck started for the 11th time this season, while Jack Panayotou, Esmir Bajraktarević, and Justin Rennicks all made substitute appearances. Panayotou entered for Gil in the first half to make his fifth career appearance.

Philadelphia found the scoresheet first with a strike in the 56th minute by Gazdag, who later doubled the advantage in the 74th minute from the penalty spot. Julián Carranza closed the scoring in the 88th minute to hand New England its third loss of the season.

New England returns home next Saturday, May 27, to host Chicago Fire FC. The 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff at Gillette Stadium airs on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and on the radio at 98.5 The Sports Hub or 1260 AM Nossa Radio in Portuguese.

1. Emmanuel Boateng started a fifth straight game for the first time since 2019, finishing with a team-high two chances created. 2. DeJuan Jones registered team highs in duels won (8), successful dribbles (4), and tackles won (3). 3. Dave Romney, who continues to play every minute this season, also won eight duels, including seven of nine aerials. 4. Jack Panayotou replaced the injured Carles Gil in the first half as the 18-year-old midfielder made his fifth appearance of the season. Panayotou (Cambridge, Mass.) was one of four Revolution Homegrown Players to appear in Saturday's contest alongside Esmir Bajraktarević, Noel Buck (Arlington, Mass.), and Justin Rennicks (South Hamilton, Mass.). 5. Buck made his 11th start of the year as he continues to appear in every league match for New England.
