Nemanja Nikolic Called in for Hungarian International Duty

CHICAGO - Chicago Fire forward Nemanja Nikolic has been called in to the Hungarian National Team for a pair of international friendlies. The reigning MLS Golden Boot winner and Hungary host Kazakhstan on Friday, March 23 and Scotland on Tuesday, March 27, with both matches taking place at the Groupama Aréna in Budapest.

Nikolic made his international debut for Hungary in a 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifier against the Netherlands on Oct. 11, 2013. He scored his first international goal three days later in a 2-0 qualifying win over Andorra. Nikolic has since scored five goals in 25 appearances for his side.

Nikolic, who led the league with 24 goals in 2017, scored a brace in the Fire's season opener on March 10. Nikolic will depart following the Fire's road contest against Minnesota United FC on March 17 at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minn.
