Kingston Frontenacs News Release

Kingston-Thanks to the generosity of Kingston Frontenacs fans, the Salvation Army Toy Drive is almost 1,200 plush toys richer after the 2012 John Deere Teddy Bear Toss. When Cody Alcock scored at 16:26 of the first period, Kingston Frontenacs fans threw 1,198 plush toys on the ice.

"Seeing the teddy bears thrown onto the ice is always a sight to see. It's always heartwarming to know that our fans can make the day a little brighter for kids in the community by helping bolster the stock of toys for the toy drive over the holidays," said Justin Chenier, Executive Director of Business Operations for the Kingston Frontenacs. "As simple as a plush toy sounds to some people, on Christmas morning, it can mean the world to a child in our community."

This year's Teddy Bear Toss was supported by John Deere with help from the Church Athletic League's Salvation Army team and Frontenac County Paramedics. The Frontenacs are in action for their last home games before the holiday break tomorrow night at 7 p.m. when they face the Mississauga Steelheads.
