
Naturals Unable to Get Timely Hit in Defeat

TULSA, Okla. - The Northwest Arkansas Naturals outhit the Tulsa Drillers but were unable to bring home any runs as they dropped a 2-0 decision to the Drillers on Friday night.
After being held hitless for the first five innings by Naturals' starter Andy Ferguson, Drillers center fielder Delta Cleary led off with a single and scored on an Angelys Nina triple. Nina scored on a two-out single by Dustin Garneau to give Tulsa a 2-0 lead.
The Naturals threatened in the ninth inning as Roman Hernandez led off with a single, followed by a walk to Rey Navarro. However, Tulsa closer and former Natural Cole White got Brett Eibner to ground into a double play before striking out Orlando Calixte to end the game.
The Naturals loaded the bases in the fifth and seventh innings but were unable to bring home a run. Northwest Arkansas went 0-for-9 with Runners in Scoring Position and stranded 11 runners on base while grounding into four double plays.
Texas League All-Star Rey Navarro went two-for-three with two doubles to lead the Northwest Arkansas offense. Roman Hernandez also had two hits as he went two-for-four with a pair of singles. Matt Fields doubled and stole a base in the fourth inning. The Naturals finished with seven hits, while the Drillers were only able to get five hits off of four Naturals pitchers.
Tim Gustafson earned his fifth win of the season, allowing five hits with four walks and five strikeouts in six scoreless innings. White recorded his sixth save of the season, allowing one hit with one walk and a strikeout in an inning of work.
Ferguson suffers the tough-luck loss as he allowed two runs on three hits with three walks and four strikeouts in 5.2 innings. Sam Runion, Jon Keck and Scott Alexander combined to allow two hits in 2.1 innings.
The Naturals will send Jason Adam (2-8, 6.23 ERA) to the mound tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. Colin McHugh is scheduled to make his Tulsa debut.
