
Naturals Fall in Series Finale to Missions, 10-5

SAN ANTONIO, Texas. - The Northwest Arkansas Naturals (32-22) dropped their first series finale game since May 8 in a 10-5 decision to the San Antonio Missions (25-30) on Sunday afternoon at Nelson Wolff Municipal Stadium. The Naturals were swept for the first time all season.
The Naturals jumped on MLB rehab-starter Brandon Morrow recording five straight hits to open up the scoring in the second inning. Hunter Dozier, Alex Liddi and Kenny Diekroeger recorded three straight doubles to take an 2-0 lead while Terrance Gore dropped down an RBI sacrifice bunt to take a 3-0 lead.
The Naturals added their fourth run of the game in the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly from Raul Mondesi to plate Lane Adams from third who began the inning with his first triple of the season. That put Northwest Arkansas ahead, 4-1. Liddi added an RBI double in the top off the 8th to make it a 5-1 lead.
Meanwhile, Miguel Almonte tossed 5.0 innings of one-run baseball scattering four hits; but did not factor in the decision. Ali Williams worked 2.0 shutout inning in relief of Almonte before Malcom Culver, Daniel Stumpf (3-2, 3.86) and Aroni Nina combined for the eighth inning.
The Missions scored nine runs on nine hits in the eighth inning sending 14 batters to the plate to turn a four-run deficit into a 10-5 win.
Adams finished 3-for-4 with a run scored, a triple and a stolen base while Liddi recorded his second three-hit performance racking up a pair of RBI. Dozier went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a double, his 11th of the season.
The Naturals have 16 games remaining in the first half - all against the Texas League North - as they ready to play six games in four days against the Tulsa Drillers on Tuesday, June 9 at Arvest Ballpark.
Game one of the day one double-header is set for 5:05 with right-hander J.C. Sulbaran (4-3, 3.65) to take the ball while right-hander Matt Murray (4-0, 4.46) goes in game two of the twin bill.
