Nationals Shake up Senators Roster, Dorta Returns

The Harrisburg Senators announced today that the Washington Nationals have made several moves to the local roster. The Nationals placed Senators' RBI leader Seth Bynum on the Disabled List and activated outfielder Tony Blanco from the D.L.

The team also moved outfielders Robin Jennings and Christian Guerrero to triple-A Columbus and brought back former big leaguer, Melvin Dorta to Harrisburg.

The May Day shake-up comes on the day Harrisburg is to open a six-game road trip in Akron, after starting the season 5-17 in the month of April. Bynum goes to the D.L. with 11 RBI's in his first 20 games this season despite just a .221 average. He also has 3 home runs.

Blanco played in 13 games with Harrisburg before going on the D.L. with a hamstring injury. He was batting .235 with 2 home runs and 9 RBI's. Jennings (.282, 3, 7) and Guerrero (.196, 0, 6) were both used in the outfield in Harrisburg.

Dorta, a fan favorite in Harrisburg, made his major league debut last season with Washington. Dorta was an Eastern League all-star last season and has appeared in 301 games for Harrisburg over the past three seasons. This season in triple-A Columbus, Dorta was hitting .222 in 20 games with no home runs and 6 RBI's.
