Tribe Talk....

Washed Away -

The K-Tribe's series finale with Frederick was suspended in the bottom of the first inning yesterday with the Keys leading 2-0. It was the first home game suspended or rained out for Kinston this season. It was a wet end to a week to forget as Kinston did not when a game last week and is currently on a season high six game losing streak after winning a season high four straight the week before. Kinston last four losses in the streak have come by a total of five runs, with three one runs losses and a two run defeat in extra innings.

Defending Champs -

The defending Carolina League Champions the Potomac Nationals take on Kinston for the first time this season. Potomac was 10-10 at the end of April before winning nine games in a row. The Nationals were rained out last night and are 2-4 in their last six games, but boast the second best record in the Carolina League.

Northern Exposure -

Kinston is just 5-11 against Northern Division teams this season, they are 12-8 against the Southern Division this season.

Road Sweet Road -

Kinston is in the middle of a seven game homestand against Frederick and Potomac. The homestand will be their last multi-series homestand until the end of June (the first week of the second half of the season). After playing 18 of their first 21 games of the season in Kinston, starting Friday May 22nd the K-Tribe will play 16 of their next 19 and 23 of the final 29 games of the first half on the road.
