National Conference holds on to 7-6 victory in ECHL All-Star Game

FRESNO, CA- The National Conference picked up a 7-6 victory over the American Conference in the 2006 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Bud Light, before 7,667 at Save Mart Center on Wednesday night.

Fresno Falcons forward Luke Curtin potted two goals in the third period, picking up All-Star Game MVP honors.

Wheeling Nailers goalie Andy Franck allowed one goal on eight shots in his lone period of action. Nailers forward Sean Collins started for the American Conference but did not register a point in a game that saw eight goals between the two teams in the third period.

The National Conference jumped out to a 6-2 lead early in the third before the American Conference mounted a rally. Pensacola's Luke Fulghum had a hat trick for the Americans.

The All-Star Game will be replayed on television on Thursday, January 26, viewable on OLN from 5-7 p.m. EST, and on Saturday, January 28 from 6-8 p.m. EST.

The Nailers open up a three game home stand tomorrow night against Trenton at WesBanco Arena at 7:30 p.m. The game can be heard live on the internet and is available for viewing at a $6 "pay-per-view" rate at www.wheelingnailers.com, courtesy of B-2 Networks.
