From the Notes

Youngest Sounds: At 20 years and 310 days, Jesus Luzardo becomes the fourth-youngest player to start for the Sounds in the Pacific Coast League era. The youngest to play for the Sounds was Aramis Ramirez on April 7, 1998 at 19 years and 285 days. Franklin Barreto debuted for Nashville at 20 years and 197 days on August 31, 2016, and Chad Hermansen's first game with Nashville was at 20 years and 210 days on April 7, 1998.

Premier Pitching Prospects: Tonight's pitching matchup features two top prospects. Nashville's Jesus Luzardo is ranked by MLB Pipeline as Oakland's top prospect and #12 overall, while Sacramento's Shaun Anderson is ranked as San Francisco's #4 prospect. Both pitchers were named mid-season All Stars by their respective leagues in Double-A, and both pitched in the MLB All-Star Futures game at Nationals Park this season. Luzardo started for the World Team while Anderson came out of the bullpen for the U.S. and earned the win. The two were selected six picks apart in the third round of the 2016 MLB First-Year Player Draft from the state of Florida. Anderson was selected by Boston with the 88th overall pick out of the University of Florida while Luzardo was taken six picks later at 94th overall by the Nationals out of Stoneman Douglas (FL) High School.

Hit Em Up: Last night the Sounds compiled 17 hits, one-shy of their season-high of 18, which they collected on May 3 in a suspended game at Colorado Springs. All nine batters recorded at least one hit and five different players tallied multi-hit games.

High Five: Sheldon Neuse has driven in at least one run in each of his last four games. With an RBI tonight, Neuse would join Dustin Garneau (May 10-18), Nick Martini (June 13-18) and Ramón Laureano (July 24-28) as the only Sounds players to have RBI streaks of five games this season. The last Sounds player to have an RBI streak of six games was Jason Rogers from July 11-19, 2014.

W7: The Sounds are currently on their longest winning streak of the season at seven games. It is their longest winning streak since they won nine games in a row from May 23-31, 2016.
