From the Notes
Put it in Reverse, Frankie: Tonight's starter for Nashville, Frankie Montas has sported reverse splits all season long. The right-hander is limiting left-handed batters to a .189 (17-for-90) average while right-handers are batting .294 (48-for-163) against him.
Hanging by a Thread: Nashville's playoff hopes are nearly dead. In order for the Sounds to make the playoffs they need to win each of their last 10 games and the Redbirds have to lose each of their last 10 games. Memphis can clinch the division for the second straight season with a win tonight.
Crazy Eight: Last night Jesus Luzardo allowed a career-high eight runs in a loss to Memphis. It was the fourth time this season a Sounds pitcher has allowed eight earned runs in a game. James Naile did it twice and tonight's starter Frankie Montas did it once on August 9 at Colorado Springs.
K's For Days: Last night Sheldon Neuse struck out three times to bring his season total to 165, which is the second most in a single season by a Sounds player in franchise history. Joe Koshansky holds the franchise record as he was fanned 166 times in 2009.
