Wheeling Nailers News Release
WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, have received defenseman Ethan Prow from the AHL's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The transaction takes effect immediately.
Prow, 23, got his first taste of professional hockey action at the end of the 2015-16 campaign, when he joined Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, after completing his collegiate career. Ethan had the opportunity to skate in five regular season games and two postseason contests with the Penguins, making his debut on April 8th against Lehigh Valley, then picking up his first career point with an assist on April 17th at Hershey.
Prior to turning pro, the Sauk Rapids, Minnesota native attended St. Cloud State University for four years, where he majored in Finance. Over the course of four years with the Huskies, Prow appeared in 149 games, accumulating 19 goals, 80 assists, and 99 points. His best year came in 2015-16 as a senior, when he racked up eight goals and 38 points, while posting a remarkable +29 rating in 37 contests. Ethan also spent two years in the USHL as a member of the Des Moines Buccaneers, with whom he registered 46 points in 115 career games.
Ethan Prow is expected to be in the lineup on Thursday night, wearing number 19, as the Nailers battle Reading at WesBanco Arena.
The puck drops at 7:05 on Thursday, and all kids tickets are $6, thanks to McDonald's. Wheeling will also be at home on October 29th against Kalamazoo at 8:05 for Kids Halloween, featuring Trick-or-Treat and a Costume Contest.
