ANCHORAGE, ALASKA - The Alaska Aces, proud affiliate of the NHL's Vancouver Canucks and AHL's Utica Comets, have recieved former University of Alaska-Fairbanks and NHL forward Cody Kunyk from the Comets.

Aces Head Coach and President of Hockey Operations Rob Murray and Comets Director of Hockey Operations Pat Conacher made the announcement Thursday.

The 26 year old Kunyk, a native of Sherwood Park, BC, Canada, played last season in Denmark for the Gentofte Stars where he was second in goals with 13 and 29 points.

Kunyk will join the Aces today in Loveland, Colorado where the team will open the 2016-17 ECHL season tomorrow (Friday) against the Colorado Eagles.

Alaska's home opener is Friday, October 28 at the Sullivan Arena against Rapid City.
