Nailers Jason Jaffray finished fourth in ECHL Most Valuable Player voting

PRINCETON, N.J. – The ECHL announces that Atlantic City goaltender Scott Stirling is the 2003-04 Sher-Wood ECHL Most Valuable Player as determined in a vote of ECHL coaches. Stirling becomes only the second goaltender in league history to win the MVP award joining Frederic Cloutier of Louisiana, who won in 2001-02.

The Nailers two time ECHL All Star, and last year's ECHL Rookie of the Year Jason Jaffray finished fourth in the voting for the MVP award. Jaffray finished the year with 54 games played with 37g, 37a, for 74 pts and he was a +20. He was also named earlier this month to the All ECHL Second Team, and finished third in the league in scoring.

Jaffray finished behind Columbia forward Tim Smith (69 gp, 33g, 62a, 95 pts, +40) was second in the voting followed by Pensacola goaltender Brian Eklund (62 gp, 38-17-7, 3.01 GAA, .921 save pct.), and coming in fifth was San Diego left wing Mark Pederson (70 gp, 44g, 37a, 81 pts, +15).

The Nailers won game one against the Reading Royals last night and game two will be tonight at WesBanco Arena at 7:30 PM. Playoff packages and individual playoff game tickets are now on sale, individual game tickets range from $12-$15 and five game packages run from $55-$70.
