Nailers Announce Training Camp Schedule & Events

WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, have announced their practice and events schedule for Training Camp 2015, Presented by Panhandle Cleaning & Restoration, which is set to begin on Monday, October 5th at WesBanco Arena.
As has been the case in the past, all practices will be open to the general public. Fans will be able to enter the arena through the northeast entrance of the building (across from the Intermodal Parking Garage), utilizing the new ramp. Once inside, the Nailers ask that all fans remain in the seating bowl, while the team is on the ice. Coaches and players will be available for the media following each practice at the base of the southeast stairwell, before the tunnel that leads to the dressing room.
The first practice will be held during the afternoon of Monday, October 5th. The specific time has yet to be determined, due to player physicals taking place during the morning. Rosters will be available for all fans and media in attendance on day one of training camp. After that, there will be standard practices held on Tuesday, October 6th and Thursday, October 8th at 10 a.m., in addition to pregame skates on Wednesday, October 7th and Friday, October 9th, also at 10 a.m. Practice times are subject to change.
While the team gears up for its 24th season on the ice, there will also be plenty of activity off of the ice during training camp. On Tuesday, October 6th, the Nailers will be hosting their annual Select-a-Seat Event, in which prospective season ticket and mini plan holders can try out seats, before purchasing them for the year. WesBanco Arena will be hosting tours of the facility beginning at 5 p.m. and Select-a-seat will be held from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Select-a-seat is open to all fans and will also include a tour of the arena and viewing the new renovations, led by players and staff members.
For the second straight year, the Nailers will also be hosting a State of the Team Event. The event will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 8th at Wheeling Island Hotel, Casino & Racetrack. From 6-7, fans will have the opportunity to mingle with members of the organization, as all owners, coaches, players, and staff will be in attendance. At 7:00, the event will shift to the podium, where updates will be given about the team on the ice, the arena, and the organization. The speakers will be: Wheeling Nailers Governor Don Rigby and Head Coach Clark Donatelli, City of Wheeling Vice Mayor Gene Fahey and City Manager Robert Herron, WesBanco Arena Executive Director Dennis Magruder, and Pittsburgh Penguins Player Development Coach Mark Recchi.
Season tickets will first be available for pickup at the State of the Team Event. After that, season ticket holders may pick up their booklets at the Nailers office, or at the home preseason game on Friday, October 9th.
All fans can receive free tickets for the home preseason game by visiting the Nailers office, or can purchase them for $5 each, plus taxes and fees, by calling (304) 234-GOAL or visiting the WesBanco Arena Box Office.
Individual tickets, season tickets, mini plans, and group tickets are on sale now, with prices starting as low as $10 per seat. The Nailers will begin the 2015-16 regular season on October 16th and 17th in Norfolk, before the home opener takes place on October 24th against Brampton at 7:35.
