Thunder Add Six on Tryouts

Glens Falls, NY - The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, announced today that they have agreed to terms with six players on try-out agreements for team training camp. Forwards John Jackson, Ben Power, Jacob Laliberte, along with defensemen Sam Higgins, Jeremy Noreau and Mark Corbett will report to Thunder camp, which opens this Sunday, October 4, at 10:30 a.m.
The group is headlined by Power, who comes to camp on a Professional Try Out with 24 games of ECHL experience under his belt. Power made his ECHL debut last season with the Greenville Road Warriors, where he collected seven points (2-5-7) over 24 games. The Montreal, PQ native has also skated in the SPHL with the Knoxville Ice Bears and with the CHL's Allen Americans and Rapid City Rush. Power helped Knoxville bring home the President's Cup in 2014-15, as he led the Ice Bears and the entire SPHL with 11 points (4-7-11) in seven playoff games.
The other five players, who come into camp on Amateur Try Outs, include forward Jacob Laliberte, who joins the Thunder after a four-year collegiate career in Troy, NY at RPI. The winger collected 87 points (30-57-87) over 138 career games with the Engineers, including a team leading 18 assists during his junior season in 2013-14. John Jackson rounds out the tryout forwards, coming off of his 2014-15 campaign at SUNY Oswego, where he collected three points (2-1-3) over 12 games with the Lakers.
Mark Corbett, like Power, won the President's Cup with Knoxville last season, where he came on a Try Out after he finished his collegiate career at Ryerson University. The 6'3" blueliner finished his tenure with the Rams with 104 games played, tied for eighth all-time. Sam Higgins also joins the Thunder from the college ranks, after he completed his career at St. Norbert College in De Pere, WI. The Calgary, Alta native collected 48 points (7-41-48) over 101 games with the Green Knights en route to National Championships in 2012 and 2014. Jeremy Noreau rounds out the defensive corps on try-out deals. Noreau has skated in 90 career junior hockey games in the QJAHL with the Kahnawake Condors and Vaudreuil-Dorion Mustangs.

All full season, 22 game and 12 game Thunder season ticket holders are entitled to unlimited unused ticket exchange, playoff ticket priority and the ability to buy tickets all season long at the discounted season ticket price
