Fuel Announce Training Camp Roster, Schedule

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's defending Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks and the AHL's Rockford IceHogs announced Thursday their initial roster leading into the preseason, along with their training camp roster. The 2015-16 Indy Fuel take the ice for their first practice of the season on Saturday, October 3, leading up to a pair of preseason games at Indiana Farmers Coliseum, against the Fort Wayne Komets on October 7 and the Quad City Mallards on October 11.

The Fuel open training camp with a group of 14 forwards and four defenseman, including 15 skaters under ECHL contracts for the upcoming season. Six of the signed players appeared in game action for Indy in 2014-15: forwards Garett Bembridge, Rhett Bly, Pete Massar, Johnny McGuire and Matt White, as well as defenseman Anders Franzon. The contracted players coming to the Fuel for the first time include forwards Dylan Clarke, Alexandre Lavoie, Reed Seckel, Cody Sharib, Terrence Wallin and Walter Wintoneak, alongside defensemen Zach Miskovic, David Pszenyczny and Andy Simpson.

In addition to the players already on ECHL deals, the Fuel have extended tryout invitations to four players; forwards Tim Hall, Branislav Kost, Zack Larue and goaltender Alex Fotinos. Additional players will be assigned to Indy from the IceHogs as the AHL preseason progresses.

Beginning with the first team practice on Saturday, the Fuel will complete a 13-day long training camp schedule, leading into their 2015-16 season opener on October 16 at home against the Toledo Walleye. All of the team's practices will take place at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum, or the adjacent Pop Warner Youth Pavilion. The October 7 preseason game against the Komets is closed to the general public, while tickets are available via Ticketmaster or the Indiana Farmers Coliseum box office for "Fuel Family Fun Day" during the October 11 game against Quad City.

The Fuel are planning on hosting their second annual media day event on Tuesday, October 13 at Indiana Farmers Coliseum. Leading the media day festivities is the team's new Director of Communications and "Voice of the Fuel" Tom Callahan, who is bringing his 15 years of professional hockey experience to Indianapolis. Tom comes to Central Indiana from Nashville, Tenn., where he spent the last two years as host of the Stillman and Callahan show on ESPN Nashville, and where he logged over 350 games behind the microphone for the Nashville Predators.

In 2015-16, the Indy Fuel drop the puck on their second season in the ECHL.
