Recap
The Washington Mystics clinched a playoff berth following a 103-98 win against the Phoenix Mercury. Mystics forward Elena Delle Donne led the team with 30 points, shooting 10-for-14 from the field and a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line. Guard Kristi Toliver added 25 points after going 4-for-8 from the three-point line. It was the seventh time this season that Toliver has made four three-pointers in a game. LaToya Sanders and Natasha Cloud added 19 and 15 points respectively and the team shot a season-best .561 from the field.
Washington will look to keep their winning streak going when they host the Seattle Storm (23-7) tomorrow at 11:30 am.
2018 Playoff
The Washington Mystics announced that home playoff games are set to be played at The Charles E. Smith Center on the campus of The George Washington University barring any scheduling conflicts once the WNBA playoff schedule is announced. Capital One Arena will be unavailable due to the ongoing renovation project continuing through the month of August and into September.
Information on game schedule and ticket information for all Mystics 2018 WNBA Playoff games will be announced at a later date. Fans interested in learning more about 2018 WNBA playoff tickets, or 2019 Mystics Season Ticket Memberships for the inaugural season at the state-of-the-art Entertainment & Sports Arena at Saint Elizabeth's East should contact the Mystics sales office at 877.DCHOOP.1.
#BeYou
The Washington Mystics and the WNBA have partnered to host a #BeYou Empowerment panel discussion at Capital One Arena prior to the Mystics game against the Los Angeles Sparks. The #BeYou Empowerment Series was created by the WNBA with a focus on reaching girls ages 13-17. The program will take place in various WNBA cities with Washington's event taking place on Friday, Aug. 17 at 4 p.m., followed by Mystics versus Sparks at 7 p.m. Panel participants include Jemele Hill, Susan McPherson, Candice Cook, Damaris Lewis and Christy Winters-Scott. Ticket packages for the #BeYou Empowerment event start at $25 and are available by visiting www.washingtonmystics.com, or by calling 877.DC.HOOP.1.
