
Mystics To Kick Off 10th Anniversary

Washington, D.C. - The Washington Mystics will kick off its 10th anniversary this Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at Verizon Center against conference rival, Connecticut Sun. The team will also host its annual Street Festival prior to the game from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. on F Street. The festival will feature a moon bounce for kids, face painters, arts and craft area and a pop-a-shot. Former Mystics player, Nikki McCray will sign autographs from 3:00 -4:00 p.m. There will be performances by the Mystics Mayhem, Washington Showstoppers Marching Band and Eastern High School band. In addition there will be dancing performances by local groups such as Shockwaves Washington DC.
"This is an exciting experience for our organization to be celebrating its 10th Anniversary, said Chief Operating Officer Curtis Symonds. "We feel strongly that this is a pivotal year for us to move to the next level. We made some great additions to our team and with our veterans; we feel we're moving in the right direction."
Mystics President and Managing Partner, Sheila Johnson along with the entire 2007 Washington Mystics team will come out to address the crowd. Fans will then be ushered into the arena for the game.
Washington will host the 2007 WNBA All-Star game on July 15th Verizon Center. Tickets are available at Ticket Master at (202) 397-SEAT.
