Mystics to hold Fan Draft Viewing Party

Washington, D.C. â The Washington Mystics will host its fourth annual Fan Draft Viewing Party on Saturday, April 16th at Fagan's Pub. Doors will open at 11:45 a.m. with the first round of the 2005 WNBA Draft beginning at noon. The first round will be broadcast on ESPN2. All three rounds of the draft will be broadcast on NBA TV, WNBA.com and ESPN.com.
The Mystics have the sixth and 13th overall pick in the draft as well as a pick in the second and third rounds (19th and 32nd overall). Last season, the Mystics picked Alana Beard of Duke University with the second overall pick of the 2004 draft. Washington Mystics fans are invited to attend the party and stay for the post draft press conference featuring General Manager Linda Hargrove and Mystics head coach Michael Adams. Mystics players Alana Beard and Murriel Page will be on hand to sign autographs and take pictures.
Washington will host the Los Angeles Sparks for its home preseason game on Tuesday, May 10th at 7:00 p.m. Tickets start at $ 9.50 and are currently on sale. Fans can purchase tickets by visiting the MCI Center Box Office or calling TicketMaster Phone Charge at (202) 397-SEAT
The 2005 Mystics season kicks off on Saturday, May 21st at 7:00 p.m. when the team travels to Charlotte to take on the Sting. Washington will have its home opener on Sunday, May 22nd at 6:00 p.m. versus Eastern Conference Champions Connecticut Sun.
