Washington Mystics News Release
The Mystics will hold its annual draft party on Saturday, April 16th at Fagan's Pub in MCI Center from 12-3:00 p.m. Season Ticket holders will be in attendance alongside Mystics Players. Following the draft, Pat Summitt, Linda Hargrove and Michael Adams will hold a press conference. Washington has the 6th and 13th pick in the firs round of the draft. Media interested in attending should contact Ketsia Colimon or Nicole Boden in the Mystics Public Relations Office.
The Mystics have added two new assistant coaches for the 2005 season. Marynell Meadors and Jeff House will be joining Head Coach Michael Adams on the bench. Meadors comes from the University of Pittsburgh and has over 30 years of coaching experience while House comes to the Mystics following seven seasons with the New York Liberty.
She's back!!! The Original Mystic, Murriel Page has resigned with the team. Page spent the off-season playing in Spain. She has helped lead the team to three post-season appearances (2000, 2002, 2004).
Mystics' Chasity Melvin has been having a ridiculous off-season. She was unanimously named MVP of the Israeli League. Melvin led her team to a 20-5 record. Her team is currently in the Final Four of the EuroCup. She averaged 18.1 ppg and 9.1 rpg for the regular season.
