WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Washington Mystics announced today that they have signed guard Julie Vanloo to a training camp contract.

"We have been following Julie's international career for some time and the timing is right to bring her to the Mystics," said Mystics General Manager Mike Thibault. "A terrific shooter who can play both guard spots, she has been a key player for the Belgian National Team during their rise to the top tier of international teams."

Vanloo (5-8) has spent her entire professional basketball career overseas, currently playing for Galatasaray of the Turkish Super League for the 2023-24 season. The Belgium native has averaged 13.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 8.0 assists in 19 games this season. Vanloo, a member of the Belgian National Team, helped secure Belgium's first FIBA Women's Eurobasket championship in 2023, where she averaged 16.2 points, 3.2 assists, and 2.7 rebounds during the tournament. She also represented Belgium in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic games.

Thibault added, "Like a lot of our players, she has the versatility we value to play multiple positions. Welcome to D.C., Julie."
