WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Washington Mystics announced today that they have signed free agent guard/forward Karlie Samuelson.

"Karlie brings an exciting dimension to our team as a great shooting, big wing player who can stretch the floor for us," said Mystics General Manager Mike Thibault. "She had a breakout season for LA last year and was one of the best three-point shooters in the league."

Samuelson (6-0, 160) comes to Washington after posting career-best averages of 7.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 34 games (23 starts) during the 2023 season while shooting a career-high .463 from the field and .941 from the free throw line. She ranked sixth in the WNBA in three-point percentage at .426 in 2023.

"I am very excited to join the Mystics and have admired the way the team plays on both ends of the floor since their 2019 championship," said Samuelson. "I am excited to be a part of that competitiveness and can't wait to get started."

The Stanford product joined Jackie Young (LVA), Chelsea Gray (LVA) and Lexie Brown (LAS) as the only players to shoot at least .450 from the field and .400 from three-point range during the 2023 season [min. 25 3PM]. She holds career averages of 4.5 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 16.7 minutes per game in 76 games (26 starts) with the Los Angeles Sparks (2023, 2021, 2019, 2018), Phoenix Mercury (2022), Seattle Storm (2021) and Dallas Wings (2019).

Thibault added, "She has greatly expanded all facets of her game over the last several years and we are thrilled she chose to come to D.C."
