Washington Mystics News Release

Washington, D.C. - Washington Mystics General Manager Linda Hargrove announced today that Forward Crystal Robinson has signed with the team as a free agent. Per company policy, terms of the contract will not be released.

"We are pleased to bring an established small forward to the Mystics," said Hargrove. "As a veteran player, she poses a threat every time she steps on the court and her experience in the playoffs is one we will count on as well."

Robinson joins the Mystics following seven seasons (1999-2005) with the New York Liberty where she averaged 10.7 ppg, 2.8 rpg, and 2.0 apg. She will also be reunited with her former coach and current Mystics Head Coach Richie Adubato. Last season, she started 31 games for New York and recorded 7.3 ppg and 3.1 rpg. In six playoff appearances, she has averaged 11.1 ppg, 3.2 rpg and 1.8 apg.

Robinson is ranked first on the Liberty's All-time list for three point field goals made and is fourth in points scored and scoring average.

"I am excited about this new opportunity. Washington is a great place to play and the Mystics have a great fan base," said Robinson.

During her last two collegiate seasons at Abilene Christian, Robinson averaged a double-double with 27 ppg and 11 rpg. In 2003, she was inducted into the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Hall of Fame. Robinson began her career with the American Basketball League (ABL) where she was named Rookie of the Year during the 1996-1997 season.

The 2006 Mystics season kicks off on Tuesday, May 23rd at 7:00 p.m. when the team hosts conference rival, New York Liberty. Season tickets and partial plans are currently available and can be purchased by calling (202) 266-2277 or by visiting the Mystics web site at www.washingtonmystics.com
