
Mystics Make Roster Moves

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Washington Mystics have announced that they have signed forward Stephanie Jones to a hardship contract after being granted an exception from the WNBA.
Additionally, Washington has claimed guard/forward Kennedy Burke off waivers from Seattle. Kennedy's contract will be temporarily suspended to begin the regular season while she fulfils her overseas commitment. In a corresponding move, the team has waived guard Katie Benzan who is expected to return to the team at a later date.
Jones, 6-2, comes to Washington after one season with the Connecticut Sun, appearing in 18 games and averaging 1.4 points and 1.2 rebounds per game.
Burke, 6-1, enters her fourth WNBA season after stints with the Indiana Fever (2019-20) and Seattle Storm (2021). Her career averages include 4.7 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.7 assists in 13.2 minutes per game.
