Luis Aviles Jr. notched an infield single before Carlos Belonis fouled out. A wild pitch moved Wilson to third and then Aviles Jr. stole second. The Pelicans decided to intentionally walk Ryan Aguilar to load the bases, but Hiura lined a base hit to right to win it for Carolina (10-9).
