Musketeers St. Clair Takes Head Coaching Job for Minnesota Wilderness

(Sioux City, IA) - The Sioux City Musketeers today have announced today that Associate Head Coach and Assistant General Manager, Colten St. Clair has accepted the position of Head Coach for the Minnesota Wilderness of the North American Hockey League.

St. Clair has been on the Musketeers bench for the past two seasons, serving under both Luke Strand and Jason Kersner. He was tasked with coaching the defensemen as well as the Musketeers penalty kill unit that ranked in the top three in the USHL during both seasons.

"I can't thank the Sioux City Musketeers players, staff and coaches enough for the opportunity to be part of such a first class organization," St. Clair said. "Sioux City is a model organization of winning tradition, and I am proud to have been able to help add to that for the community of Siouxland. I wish the organization nothing but the best moving forward an will forever be a Musketeer."

A native of Gilbert, AZ, St. Clair played in the USHL for the Fargo Force for three seasons. He played his collegiate hockey at the University of North Dakota where he helped guide UND to three Frozen Four appearances, capped off by a national championship during his senior season in 2016.

St. Clair's first head coaching opportunity came in during the 2017-18 season for the Phoenix Knights Junior A Program of the WSHL. He improved the club from a five win campaign the previous year to a 28 victories the following year, earning him the WSHL Coach of the Year honor and at 25 years old became the youngest coach in league history to win the award.

In 2018-2019, St Clair served as the Volunteer Assistant Coach at the University of Maine (Hockey East).

Prior to Sioux City, St. Clair also served as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Maine. And as an assistant coach for the Omaha Lancers for a year and a half.
