
Mudcats' McGinley Wins Pitcher Of Week

Zebulon, NC --- Carolina left-hander Blake McGinley has been named Southern League pitcher of the week, the league announced Monday morning. McGinley is the second Mudcat to earn the league's weekly award with outfielder Jai Miller notching the hitting honor in late April.
McGinley, who has won his last three starts, was 2-0 over the week allowing no runs over 12 innings pitched in earning wins over West Tenn and the Southern Division leading Jacksonville Suns.
David Cook of the Birmingham Barons won the batting honor for the week just concluded.
Carolina opens its penultimate homestand Tuesday night against the Mississippi Braves beginning at 7:15 PM ET at Five County Stadium.
