Carolina Mudcats News Release
Zebulon, NC --- The Cincinnati Reds have made one roster move impacting their Double-A affiliate Carolina Mudcats prior to tonight's game between the Mudcats and Jacksonville Suns.
LHP Alexander Smit has been placed on the seven-day disabled list with a back injury. Smit started last night's game with the Suns and departed after facing three hitters in the third inning. Smit absorbed his first loss in the game that snapped Carolina's season-long eight-game winning streak.
No complementing roster move was announced, so the Mudcats are playing one player short of the Southern League roster at 23.
