MOBILE, Ala. - On Dale Murphy Night at Hank Aaron Stadium, the BayBears dropped an 11-inning seesaw battle to the Mississippi Braves, 4-3, giving the BayBears their third consecutive loss and just their first in extra innings.

Every time the BayBears (32-25) scored, the Braves (28-29) did as well. It wasn't until the fourth when the home team finally solved Ryne Reynoso who didn't surrender a hit until Chris Rahl's leadoff double in the fourth inning. Two batters later, Sean Coughlin continued his tear with a double to center, driving in Rahl.

Mississippi got that tally back in the fifth as Willie Cabrera singled home Matt Young with two outs. An error by Greg Creek in the bottom of the fifth put the BayBears back on top as Pedro Ciriaco scored, but the Braves tied it again with Eric Campbell homering off Wes Roemer in the sixth. Roemer was solid otherwise through six frames as he coughed up seven hits but just two runs.

Roemer was in line for the victory when Coughlin came up in the bottom of the sixth and jacked his second home run in as many nights against reliever Bryan Dumesnil. The BayBears maintained that advantage until the eighth when Creek went deep off Daniel Stange.

Reid Mahon (2-1) was solid through the first two innings he pitched, but in the 11th, the first two men reached on infield singles before Young put the Braves on top for good with a single to center, scoring Concepcion Rodriguez. The 11th began with Brandon Hicks reaching on a questionable call at first, resulting in Hector De La Cruz's first ejection as skipper of the BayBears.

Steve Marek (2-3) tossed a pair of scoreless innings over the ninth and 10th while Kevin Gunderson (S, 2) held off a BayBear rally in the 11th.

The BayBears battle the Braves in game three of their series on Sunday night at 6:05 with Jarrod Parker (3-3, 3.00) getting the start. For Hank Aaron Stadium tickets, call (251) 479-BEAR or log on to www.mobilebaybears.com.
